About

Hi! I’m Shelley. I’m a Product/UX Designer with a unique blend of business acumen and technical skillset. For me, design goes far beyond making things look good-- it's more about crafting experiences that have a real and meaningful impact on people's lives and the world around them. Whether I'm developing design strategy or obsessing over pixel-perfect prototypes, my goal as a designer is to create products that solve complex problems and empower users. And I'm always striving to push the boundaries of what's possible through the integration of design, technology, and business.

Background

I graduated from The Ohio State University with a Bachelor of Science in Business Administration (BSBA) degree and a specialization in Accounting. After working in public accounting for two and a half years and obtaining my CPA license, I have finally decided to pursue my longstanding wish to study design and continue to build my design passion.

Education

I began formally transitioning into design by attending UX and UI Design Certification Programs at UC Berkeley Extension. Concurrently, I took two challenging computer programming courses and a prototyping & fabrication course on Berkeley's main campus, which taught me design thinking with a cross-disciplinary lens and strengthened my ability to apply it to a broader field.

Currently, I'm studying Interaction Design in the School of Design at Carnegie Mellon University as a graduate student.

Hobbies

Outside of design, I’m a huge fan of makeup and skincare, and love watching beauty videos on YouTube and staying on top of what’s new in the beauty world. I'm also into EDM, baking, puzzles, and Legos! In the winter, you'll probably find me snowboarding on the slopes :)
